Jaws Milkshake Ep

Jaws Milkshake Ep Rating: 8,6/10 9000 reviews

Laziness is underrated. What a lot of people see as an undesirable character trait can, in fact, be good for you. Chill out more, live longer. Say no to a 10-mile run, stay up later. Sleep more, yawn less. Life-affirming mottos that bring us to Jaws, a quartet in awe of laziness on their debut six-track EP. Song titles, lyrics, overall vibes: a homage to doing not a lot.

Opener ‘Breeze’ (a lazy version of proper wind) begins with frontman Connor Schofield’s plea “ Hold my hand, think of me/I’ll take you to the beach” before building to a chorus that simply goes “ I want it I need it, yeah“. ‘Donut’ (food for lazy people) follows, on which Schofield gives it the full first-Cribs-album Ryan Jarman, when his drawl was untainted by the angst that would later infect it. He sounds truly blissed-out, singing “ Don’t want you, don’t need you/It’s all good, it’s all cool/The sun’s out, it’s all cool“. No-one has ever sounded so much like the internal monologue of a sunbathing cat.

It’s immensely soothing. What Jaws have that the others don’t, though, is synths. Most obviously on ‘Surround You’, which intros itself with a wall of sparkles Phoenix would dig.

This functionality can be wrapped up in the following curl command: curl -isk -X 'GET' -b 'credential=eyJjcmVkZW50aWFsIjoiZEdWamFHNXBZMmxoYmpvPSJ9' 'Of course if you change the password you wouldn't be very sneaky, a better approach would be re-configuring the modems DNS settings perhaps? It's also worth noting that the SNMP set/get is CSRF'able if you were to catch a user who had recently logged into their modem. How to hack into arris cable modem. Next level engineering. The real pain here is that Arris keeps their FW locked up tightly and only allows Cable operators to download revisions/fixes/updates, so you are at the mercy of your Cable operator, even if Arris decides that its worth the time and effort to patch this bug backdoor - you as the end user CANNOT update your device because the interface doesn't provide that functionality to you!

But best of all is ‘Stay In’ (kind of a lazy activity), which combines all of Jaws’ traits with the chorus “ Stay in stay out“, like Schofield’s trying to make an inconsequential decision on holiday. Days when the hardest thing you have to do is work out whether to leave the house are the greatest.

Have you ever had a melancholic view of the world whilst sat in the sun in a baggy top and tight jeans and stroking a cat? If not then have a listen to Jaws EP ‘Milkshake’ as you will immediately be taken to a sunny world where all is bright and you and your feline friend don’t have a care in the world. B-town, West Madlands, whatever you call it, is erupting in 2013, with Peace’s stunning debut album and Swim Deep’s first full-length effort ready for a summer release, but don’t let yourself forget about, as ‘Milkshake’ proves these boys have some serious songs that can easily compete for your heart and headphones with their Midlands compatriots. Having supported Swim Deep on a sold out tour in February, Jaws kicked off the year in style after creating a lot off buzz, and they didn’t disappoint, giving the headliners (SD) a run for their money at their own gig with some very composed and assured performances. ‘Milkshake’ starts with the effortlessly cool ‘Breeze’, the b-side to the EP’s single ‘‘, a track that is so suited to a beach long walk, soundtracked by singer Connor Schofield’s lingeringly deep vocals, that the guitars almost make sea like effects.

After ‘Breeze’ comes ‘Donut’ and 2012 single ‘Toucan Surf’, showcasing Jaws own garage pop as both songs feature the Btown bands trademark sound, the melancholic vocals and smooth rhythms clinging to tight basslines and tripping drum beats. The next song on the EP is the latest single ‘Friend Like You’, a track that truly brings Jaws into their own and highlights the very bright future for singer Connor Schofield, guitarist Alex Hudson, bassist Jake Cooper and drummer Eddy Geach. ‘Friend Like You’ has an air of maturity with some heartfelt and longing vocals that make it near impossible to sing along, no matter where you are. Someone could catch you lingering in the bread aisle of Tesco singing ‘I could use a friend like you’ to a baguette. Jaws formed after frontman Connor posted some demo tracks on the internet that were well received, so as a lot of people do, he decided to start a band, but probably couldn’t imagine how quickly the snowball of Jaws would come around. ‘Stay In’ and another 2012 single ‘‘ complete the Milkshake EP and make it a rousing finish of songs that are the future of Jaws and some that have gotten the Birmingham band where they are today, a bloody good effort and one that will leave you salivating for a full length album from Connor and Co. Milkshake is out digitally on the 22nd April By Thomas Johnson.
